Coin Ecological Farm Market

Personally I love open air markets, and Coin Ecological Farm Market is no exception. Sweet local oranges, fresh asparagus and luscious leeks, red radishes, and savory strawberries, are very few of the cornucopia of fresh organic produce the market offers for sale every Sunday morning. All the fruit and vegetable are produced by local farmers and gardeners and prices cannot be more friendlier. Few years back I tried my hand on starting a vegetable garden and after two years of success and failure, I realized I was not made for growing vegetables in “el Campo”. Gardening is not a piece of cake, and it’s more difficult than many people would think. Harsh sun, not so easy accessible piece of land, pests and rodents, lack of rain in the summer months, made me realize how hard and involving gardening can be and since, I have GREAT respect for those who labour the land and make a living out of it. Beside fruit and vegetables, the Coin Ecological Farm Market offers local cheese and sweets, pecans, hard to find mulberries, hand made jewelry and many others local produced goodies.

Flowers and herbs to fully complete the spring atmosphere at the Farm Market

If you are looking for a new place to meet you friends Sunday mornings, Coin Ecological Farm Market is the perfect spot. The nearby covered flea market can be also a great passing time for those “let’s get out of the house” Sunday mornings. It is very important to live green and eat seasonally! It’s the best way to stay healthy, keep in touch with nature, and support local entrepreneurial farmers. Please do it so, anytime you can. Small things can positively impact the local economy and not only, especially in harsh economic times.
